Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Rachel has been a part of the Trust staff since 2015. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor in Anthropology from Juniata College. While there, she studied abroad in India and interned in Tanzania with the Ruaha Elephant Project. After college, Rachel served as an AmeriCorps member at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island.
With the Trust, she works as a communication specialist, developing and distributing educational and environmental materials for print and online. This includes preparing weekly newsletters as well as producing videos for the Weekend Nature Natures. In addition, she assists with the production of Coastal Kingdom, education programs, and animal care.
Rachel lives in Savannah with her boyfriend, retired racing greyhound, and cat. She’s an avid reader and finished 100 books in 2021 (only 67 books in 2022 so far!). She also enjoys cooking and baking. You can find her exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in Savannah on the weekends.
