Chris is a Clemson University graduate and native South Carolinian who grew up on his family farm in the Pee Dee region of the state. He worked for the South Carolina State Park Service at various parks including Devils Fork State Park and Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area where he – among many tasks – designed and built trails. After his tenure with the SC Park Service, he moved from the mountains to the Lowcountry and worked at Sea Pines Forest Preserve as a Forest Preserve Ranger.
Chris enjoys being a good steward of the land and has a passion for natural habitats along with their management and protection. Learning the natural and cultural history of the land has always sparked his interest and imagination.
He lives in Port Royal with his wife, Leanna, and their two Labrador Retrievers, Bear and Jazz. In his free time, you can find him out paddling long distances in his sea kayak, planting native plants in his yard, or woodworking.
